The Wintec Apartments provide accommodation for mature students and international students who are looking for a convenient, affordable, shared living experience.

Each apartment contains 5-6 bedrooms (there are 71 bedrooms in total). You'll get your own bedroom furnished with a king single bed, wardrobe, desk, heater, and chairs.

The apartments are self-catering and provide an experience similar to flatting, but in a safer, student-oriented, environment.

Each person has their own single, secured room. Gas and power are included in your accommodation fee.

Each bedroom is approximately 12m2 Each secure bedroom contains a king single bed, desk, wardrobe, desk and chair.

The apartment complex is four stories, with each apartment containing five or six bedrooms, shared bathroom facilities, and a full kitchen area/dining facilities. The basement floor contains a laundry and storage area.

Wellbeing & Safety

We provide a supportive environment for school leavers to transition from home and into a new environment.

Staff on site

Trained staff (one Residential Manager and three Residential Leaders) live on-site to provide pastoral care to residents. A staff member is on duty after hours and can be contacted for emergencies with 24x7 on-call coverage.

Residential Leaders

Each resident is assigned a Residential Leader as a first point-of-contact for general matters. The ratio of Residential Leaders to residents is approximately 1:25.

Community

Staff and residents facilitate a range of events and activities throughout the year to help create a vibrant, enriching community where every resident has the opportunity to make new friends and undergo personal growth.

Off-site

Unexplained absences from the community are investigated twice a week. These investigations are conducted to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.

Meals

Wintec Apartments are self-catered (ie, you provide your own food/make your own meals), however, you can choose to purchase a catered meal plan. Meal plans/prices are based on the commitment to a chosen plan for the whole semester. It is designed to offer flexibility for the student and certainty for the caterers who plan and prep.

Staff

A manager is available during the day to assist residents, as well as Residential Leaders available on call outside of office hours. Also, Security is available to assist 24 hours 7 days a week.

Commercial cleaners clean the showers, toilets, kitchens, and hall areas weekly. They also maintain the general cleanliness of the community areas (laundry, lounges, and hallways). Residents are responsible for cleaning their own rooms, cooking utensils, and taking their rubbish to the skip bins.

Accommodation preference is given to students signing up for a full 44-week study year with the option to stay on over the balance of the holidays if desired. Preference is given to long-stay independent mature students, adult students, and International students. (Note, students under the age of 18 years will need to discuss with the Residential Services Manager individually, why they should be considered for the apartments. As a rule, under 18-year-olds should apply to the Student Village, instead).
